The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS) continues to reinforce its commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including Persons with Disabilities, through meaningful partnerships and sustained investment in community-based interventions. Earlier today, Wednesday November 19, 2025, the Honourable Vandana Mohit, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, presented a grant of $50,000 to Cause An Effect, a disability education and advocacy NGO, to support the development of a new therapy video series aimed at strengthening early intervention support for families.
Cause An Effect has been a consistent leader in delivering disability education and advocacy for over a decade, providing families with practical tools and accessible information. With this new support from the Ministry, the organisation, in collaboration with sponsors and key partners, will launch the “It Starts at Home Therapy Video Series,” which represents a significant step forward in early childhood developmental support.
The series is designed to serve children from birth to five years’ old who may be experiencing developmental delays, while also supporting families who may be unable to access traditional therapy services. It will include activities and demonstrations that families can easily incorporate into their daily routines, supported by real-life examples and expert explanations to help guide parents and caregivers in understanding developmental needs and realistic therapy outcomes.
Minister Mohit acknowledged the work of Cause An Effect whilst reaffirming the government’s commitment to place strong emphasis on improving support services for persons with disabilities, ensuring that families receive the tools and resources they need to guide their children from the earliest stages of development. Today’s grant reflects the Ministry’s broader mandate to uplift and empower citizens through targeted social interventions that respond to real needs within communities.
Through its sustained collaboration with NGOs such as Cause An Effect, the Ministry reaffirms its dedication to strengthening the NGO sector and advancing national development through strategic partnerships that expand opportunities and improve the quality of life for the nation’s most vulnerable.
