MPSDFS Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Vulnerable and Affected Citizens

The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS) reiterates its steadfast commitment to supporting citizens affected by recent programme adjustments resulting in loss of income.

In response to recent media commentary and public concern regarding the socio-economic and emotional effects of job displacement, the Ministry continues to address the needs of vulnerable individuals and families through its established services. These include a range of support measures such as professional counselling, psycho-social support and on-going social assistance for citizens experiencing emotional distress, loss, or uncertainty. All services are delivered with compassion, confidentiality, and care.

The Ministry remains committed to its mandate of delivering people centred support and fostering resilience among the nation’s most vulnerable populations. For more information or to access services, individuals are encouraged to contact the Ministry’s toll free helpline at 800-1MSD (1673) or visit www.social.gov.tt.
