the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS) is deepening its partnership with the Office of the Ombudsman of Trinidad and Tobago to ensure the timely resolution of referred matters, so as to elevate the quality of social service delivery across the nation.
Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Vandana Mohit, led a team of key Ministry officials in a strategic meeting with Ombudsman of Trinidad and Tobago, Mrs. Jacqueline Sampson Miguel and her senior technical team, to review outstanding complaints, assess current progress and establish actionable steps to expedite resolutions.
Minister Mohit took decisive action to engage directly with the Ombudsman on pending matters and to explore opportunities for greater collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting also focused on the need to standardise workflows, enhance case tracking, forge a joint follow-up framework and identify other opportunities for the two institutions to work more closely to facilitate timely responses.
This engagement forms part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to strengthen its systems and processes and ensure that social services are delivered in a manner that is responsive, transparent, efficient and people-centred.
