Geriatric Adolescent Partnership Programme (GAPP)

The Geriatric Adolescent Partnership Programme (GAPP) is a unit of the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services that facilitates daytime elderly caregiving services to elderly persons citizens sixty (60) years and over. Elderly persons receive care for an initial six (6) months and can receive an additional six (6) months thereafter based on their needs.

Service Schedule

  • 📅 Monday – Friday
  • ⏰ 7am – 3pm or 8am – 4pm
  • Closed on weekends & public holidays

Dedicated Care

One professional caregiver is assigned to each client, fostering a meaningful partnership and consistent routine.

Scope of Care

Personal Hygiene & Daily Living
  • Bathing (bed bath, shower, or sponge bath)
  • Shampooing, oral hygiene, and denture care
  • Foot soaks and back massages
  • Nail filing, shaving, and incontinent/diaper care
Life Support & Mobility
  • Assistance with transfers (bed to wheelchair and return)
  • Walking support (canes/walkers) and apparatus care
  • Prescribed physical therapy exercises
  • Filling medicine trays. (Relative to dispense, Caregiver to administer)
  • Accompanying to medical appointments (Family required to arrange transport)
  • Provide socialization e.g. board games etc.
  • Maintain care of mobility apparatus, e.g. wheelchair, walker, cane.
Nutrition & Home Management
  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals
  • Take care of kitchen and utensils after use
  • Assist or remind client to take medications
  • Check home for safety
  • Keep client's room clean.
  • Assist with client's laundry.
  • Assist client at mealtimes by feeding when necessary/rinse mouth after eating.
  • Serve meals at the appropriate temperature
  • Ensure portions are adequate.
  • Encourage client to eat by making meals attractive
  • Serve meals on time e.g. (breakfast, snack, lunch, tea, etc.).
  • Follow doctors, nutritionist, and dietician instructions at all times.
