Government Intervention Restores Hope for Family in Need
A mother’s urgent appeal for Government assistance became a catalyst for meaningful improvements in her family’s circumstances, following intervention by the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS) to provide and coordinate the support services available to address the family’s situation
Representatives from the Ministry’s relevant service delivery units visited the family to assess their circumstances and identify areas where immediate assistance could be provided within the Ministry’s mandate.
The family continues to benefit from two key social welfare grants provided by the MPSDFS, to the amount of $2,700.00, and will be guided towards additional forms of assistance for which they may be eligible.
The Ministry is also exploring opportunities to collaborate with partner agencies to facilitate access to other Government services that may further support the family and improve their overall circumstances. Through the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, the Ministry will continue to monitor the family and follow-up on the progress of other interventions that have been identified.
