Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Vandana Mohit, on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, presented another cheque to the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago to cover payments totalling Eight Million, Two Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Five Dollars and Sixty-Nine Cents ($8,256,995.69).
The cheque was received by Ms. Alaina Boochoon Acting Director/Chief Executive Officer at the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. This brings the Authority’s total commitments settled by the Ministry to seventy-five million, five hundred and seventy-three thousand, three hundred and eighty-seven dollars and fifty-two cents ($75,573,387.52).
The payment reflects the Ministry's continued commitment and its steadfast mission to promoting accountability, transparency, improving service delivery and safeguarding the welfare of the nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
Consequently, by honouring these commitments, the Ministry further reinforces its dedication to ensuring that agencies such as the Children’s Authority are equipped to continue their vital work without disruption.
